(OAK HARBOR)— The Washington State Patrol says a 24-year-old Oak Harbor woman was seriously injured in a one car crash early yesterday morning on Highway 20 south of Monkey Hill Road on north Whidbey Island.
Troopers say Fancy Lawson was driving her Lincoln Navigator SUV north on Highway 20 around 5:45 a.m. early yesterday when she attempted to pass a vehicle on the right shoulder.
The State Patrol says Lawson’s SUV went off the road and rolled end over end, partially ejecting her from the SUV.
Lawson was seriously injured and was transported to Island Hospital in Anacortes.
She was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in satisfactory condition.
The State Patrol says the cause of the crash was an illegal pass and possible charges are pending.
