(OLYMPIA)— For the first time in several years, the Washington State Senate’s Higher Education Committee held hearings on the appointments of nine trustees to community and technical college boards last week, including two for the Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees.
64 trustees are still awaiting confirmation by the Senate and are now nearing the end of their 5 year terms.
10th District Senator Barbary Bailey says the hearings allow trustees to explain why they wanted and are suited for the positions as well as their plans for the college they will serve for.
