(NORTHWEST WASHINGTON)- The Mt. Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross is conducting a Shelter Drill tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Burlington to improve disaster readiness. This internal exercise is designed to ensure that Red Cross volunteers, staff and equipment are prepared to serve all Whatcom and Skagit County residents within Red Cross shelters including those who require additional support services. Over forty volunteers have signed up to practice their skills to meet the special needs of shelter residents such as those with physical limitations, language barriers, and dietary restrictions.
