State Environmental Policy Act changes proposed after months of work by advisory committee and Ecology

(LACEY)- After months of working in partnership with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) advisory committee, the Department of Ecology has submitted proposed changes to the statewide rule.  The changes submitted to the Office of the Code Reviser are intended to make SEPA work better for local governments and their communities.

The proposed changes included greater flexibility for cities and counties and an increased public comment period.

The public comment period on the proposed rule changes is now open.  For more information about the rule changes and how to comment visit Ecology’s website at ecy.wa.gov.
