(MOUNT VERNON)- A preliminary budget for Skagit County’s Parks and Recreation Department shows the next Skagit County Fair and Rodeo still on schedule, but with no support from the county.
The fair would have to be self-sustaining. The fair received $166,000 from Skagit County this year.
Parks officials may cut the rodeo if a sponsor cannot be found.
Skagit County needs to fill a $2.5 million deficit for the coming year.
The commissioners are meeting with department heads this week. The finalized budget is to be considered Monday, November 16th.
