(MOUNT VERNON)- Two more arrests have been made after a Monday morning burglary in Mount Vernon.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old female were arrested Monday night after detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of North 4th street in Mount Vernon.
Investigators found illegal drugs, a safe containing cash, two handguns, a rifle and a shotgun that had been modified to illegal lengths. The house also contained tools, equipment, electronics and other items. Police are still researching to see if any of the property matches items missing from recent burglaries or vehicle prowls around the community.
Both were booked into Skagit County Jail. The man is being held for Maintaining a Drug House, possessing an illegal firearm and drug possession. The woman was booked for outstanding warrants involving unrelated crimes.
Thanks to an alert home-owner and watchful neighbors, police had already arrested a 28-year-old Burlington man.
