(COUPEVILLE)— A small group of Island County law and justice officials met Monday morning in Coupeville to discuss how to handle a possible media onslaught if and when Colton Harris-Moore returns to Coupeville.
Island County Prosecutors say the 19-year-old serial burglar and thief should be headed to Island County after federal charges against him are resolved in federal court in Seattle.
But Harris-Moore could bring a media circus to Coupeville, where Island County Superior Court is located.
He’s wanted on a $500,000 arrest warrant out of Island County on 10 charges related to Camano Island burglaries, thefts, vandalism and a car chase.
Prosecutors say that other charges are pending; Harris-Moore is considered a suspect in the theft of an assault rifle from a police car parked in front of a home on Camano Island.
