(PAINE FIELD)- Boeing says the first delivery of the first 747-8 Freighter may slip into early next year.

It had already said the same thing about its new 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing had hoped to deliver both planes by the end of this year.

The 747 dash 8 is in flight testing now.

Meanwhile, Boeing’s second-quarter profits fell 21 percent, and company officials say layoffs are likely in its defense business because of expected government spending cuts and bargain-hunting.
