Ballots to be mailed out

(SKAGIT COUNTY)— Skagit County Elections officials say ballots for August 17th’s primary election will be mailed out tomorrow and voters should be getting them Thursday or Friday.

Next month’s primary is a top two primary, meaning the top two candidates that receive the most votes will move on to November’s general election, regardless of party affiliation.

Several races in Skagit County have more than two candidates, including Skagit County Commissioner in District Three and both 40th District State Representative seats.

Ballots can be mailed back to the Skagit County Elections Department or dropped in one of several ballot drop boxes scattered around the county, including at the Elections Department Office at the Skagit County Administration Building at 700 South Second Street in downtown Mount Vernon.

For more information, call the Skagit County Elections Office at 336-9305 or check out the county’s website at skagitcounty.net online.
